The Black Death hit the Scottish capital hard, killing a huge part of the population. Numerous doctors tried to cure people, some dressed in extravagant outfits and beaked bird masks.

During the tour, we will visit one of the cemeteries located in the city centre, where we will tell you about Edinburgh’s most famous serial killers, William Burke and William Hare.

We will climb to the top of Calton Hill, a place where witches and warlocks were burned, and explain the reasons why you could have ended up in that bonfire. Today on Calton Hill, you can find various buildings and historical monuments: the Observatory, the Nelson Monument, and the National Monument of Scotland, which is also known as “Edinburgh’s Disgrace”!
